In recent years, with the promotion and use of smart cards, will be a number of management functions and community service, certification integrated campus, “Card” is gaining in popularity in colleges and universities.

In recent years, with the promotion and use of smart cards, will be a number of management functions and community service, certification integrated campus, “Card” is gaining in popularity in colleges and universities.

Network platform in the bottom of campus card system is the cornerstone of campus card, Ruijie company has 7 years service Education Information Experience in building, through in-depth analysis and study, designed with high stability and high security features of the card network platform to support the operation of campus card

One, needs analysis Underlying network infrastructure is the cornerstone of successful implementation of campus card.

Can not choose the right network infrastructure will lead to the following questions: system performance degradation, the high failure rate, a large number of security problems and cumbersome maintenance and management issues, which is unacceptable for users. In addition, if there is no proper network design, network infrastructure will be difficult to meet the rapid development of the campus card network expansion and upgrade capability. “Campus Card” system involves the use of funds, settlement and with the banking system, networking, and related to the general staff and students of teaching, learning and living normal, so the stability and security is a very important design aspects.

Security requirements Although Campus Network Already has a considerable network of security measures to ensure the “Campus Card” system to prevent illegal users through the campus network intrusion, should be independent and build “Campus Card” network so that the “Campus Card” relatively closed network, not with external system, especially the Internet directly connected, that is, building “Campus Card” special network, campus network and the “Campus Card” special network of logical isolation.

If for business needs, must be in the campus network and the “Campus Card” communication between private network, you can use IPSec tunnel mode, on the campus network and the “Campus Card” private network used for data exchange between encryption and the prevention of “Campus Card” malicious data being stolen, and the campus network and the “Campus Card” special network for critical Server Strict access control policy to prohibit non-authorized users access to these important servers, to protect the “Park Card” special network data security. ,

Stability of the demand

School campus card carries a lot of business development, network stability and reliability becomes more important?? Network does not matter lightly off the history of several hours have passed. On the other hand, in the application of the rich, the network has become very harsh environment, security attacks increases exponentially, but the knowledge required is weakening, a variety of attack tools on the network can be picked up at random. It also Network equipment The proliferation of network attacks or virus in the context of stability and reliability challenges. Construction of campus card network, therefore first need to have a stable network equipment itself, the design, followed by the network architecture should ensure multi-link equipment redundancy, in the end link between the multi-campus not only to the traditional links redundant backup link also needs to access different forms of preparedness.

Is Your Campus Vet-Friendly?

In 2008, SNVC created The Aurora Foundation to help address the needs of veterans as they take advantage of the new GI Bill and return to college. SNVC’s Founder and current President/CEO is a veteran himself, and he attributes his own success to his academic and military career. Today, The Aurora Foundation is led by an experienced Board of Directors which is focused on the mission to “enable veterans to successfully graduate from college and enter the workforce.” During discussions with faculty, administration, and Veteran students, the definition of a Veteran-friendly campus often arose. Here are the most common ideas that resulted from these conversations:

Elements of a Veteran-Friendly Campus
•COMMUNICATION: Do you have a good communication set up among veterans? Is there a Student Veteran’s Association set up on campus? These Associations provide a peer-to-peer network for Veterans, provide crisis hotlines, and provide resourceful information for the students.

Those are just a few of the options available within these Student Veteran’s Associations and Longwood University recently set one up when they realized the need for more veteran support on campus.

•WEB PRESENCE: Does your veteran information have a strong web presence? Returning Veterans need to be able to find your information easily through your Universities homepage. These veterans are interested in learning about what is offered on your campus, make it easy for them. These students want to know what is specifically available to veterans, for example, housing, VA resources, disability services, etc.

•CONTACT: Do you have a point of contact that is educated and/or experienced with Veterans’ concerns? A point of contact is crucial for all Veteran student needs.

An office that deals specifically with the Veteran students will allow students to take care of things like admissions, crisis counseling, financial aid, disability services, etc. This office should oversee the Veteran students as they make the climb towards graduation.

•HOUSING: What housing is available for Veterans? Given that returning Veterans are usually in their early or mid-twenties, they typically do not want to be living with those freshmen who are 18 or 19 years old and right out of high school. So, consider delegating specific housing options so that Veteran students can be grouped together, nearby. Also consider the fact that many returning Veterans will have young families, too, so that will present new needs for housing and community resources, as well.

•ORIENTATION: Do you have a Freshmen-Vet Orientation in place? Arrange for an Orientation program that helps this student population to become familiar with the Veteran-specific resources on campus, to get to know the staff who is most educated and understanding of their needs, and, perhaps, most importantly, to allow them to recognize other Veteran students.

Remember, listen to the veterans and learn what works from your students. Reach out to those Veterans on your campus as well as those on your faculty and in your administration. Find out what resources they need to help ensure they graduate.

Online vs. Campus-based Schools

Online:
Online colleges offer lots of flexibility. With nearly all online colleges, youll have the flexibility to attend class on your own schedule and do so anyplace you can get an Internet connection. This makes balancing your work, social life, and studies a lot easier than it would be if you were to go to a traditional campus college. Flexible scheduling also often makes it possible to be completely employed while studying, which is incredibly eye-catching to many operational professionals.
They are likely to have smaller amount of expenses. Online colleges are quite easy, and they dont appear with all of the bells and whistles that established university grounds do. Your tuition and fees dont normally incorporate a new gym, library services, and other fixed cost that come alongside with a college campus. in addition, youll be able to keep your gas, parking, and other transportation expenses since you dont have to actually drive to get to class on a usual basis.
Campus:
Campus classes are just like high school lessons with the exception of you can get up and go to the restroom when you’d like, you can leave early, and there are all diverse age ranges. Some people like better these hands on experience and experience with chatting to people openly.
The negative aspect to taking campus course is that you can only take the class when it’s presented for that time and day, and that you have to drive down to the college grounds. Not to bring up, if you already know the matter being covered, you have to sit and listen anyways.
It’s absolutely up to what the person prefers. Everyone is different, and learns in different habits. If you like the more laid back way of life without having to be anywhere at a definite time, online may be for you. Although, if you like to interact and get out of the house more, campus is a improved choice. Do what’s best for you and your learning capabilities.

Campus versus Off Campus Residing: Which is Better?

Whenever deciding to live on or off campus, there are many elements to take into consideration. It’s a large choice that can possibly affect your performance, psychological wellness, and general well being. You will find both pros and cons to either living on campus or even away campus in your own apartment.

Living on campus is typically taken care of via your tuition, you won’t need to find a co-signer or complete tons of paperwork that could include residing off university. However, by residing on campus, you will be in the center of the sociable group. A high level little bit anti-social, or appreciate your own time to get points done, this can be a potential drawback. However, if you’re more social and don’t mind frequent site visitors or possible distractions, living upon university can have its advantages.

Depending on the area, security should be a major factor in your choice.

The advantage of college dormitories is they are often supervised through security 24/7. If you choose to reside away campus, the security choices will be different depending on the apartment complicated. If you choose to be up to no good, or just want your privacy, you may prefer the lower security of residing away from the university.

When you reside on campus, you’ll most likely obtain a meal plan that is included in your college & housing tuition. Nevertheless there is a choice of investing in a meal plan while residing away campus, it’s not forever the situation, which may make you buying your own food.

If you’re not an excellent cook, this is often a big downside of residing off campus. At the same time, if you are assured in your cooking abilities and don’t mind purchasing groceries, you will have total manage more than what you eat for every dinner, instead of relying on your own school’s menu.

When making your decision, spend some time and think about the environment, financial options, and more importantly, what will cause you to the happiest and many effective.

Dubai is fast becoming a management studies destination. More and more students come here for their MBA at the Institute of Management Technology (IMT) – a premium business school – located in Dubais International Academic City. IMT Dubai has been awarded an accreditation from the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, UAE.

IMT Dubai believes that management education is not just about classroom lectures and theoretical knowledge of management. The institute has seamlessly transferred this conviction into its sprawling campus, leaving no stone unturned in their bid to make IMT Dubai an ideal seat of learning.

IMT Dubais exceptionally planned and built campus at Dubai Academic City is spread over a total of 250,000 square feet and is equipped with infrastructure and campus facilities in par with International standards.

The residences at IMT Dubai do not just offer students an abode, but provide a safe and convenient living environment far from their home. The 252 residential blocks are segregated with separate homes for males and separate ones for the lady students. Each of the blocks are well-equipped with all possible facilities required for a convenient lifestyle. There are 112 single occupancy rooms and 140 double occupancy rooms.

While studying at IMT Dubai, you will not miss your home and home sickness will not be a hindrance to the management studies. Most students miss home food. No matter where they study. But, at IMT, Dubai the food is great and boredom is not even an option. The campus has well planned sports and recreational activities that help a student rejuvenate after a long, hard day of studying.

In fact, the Corporate Club is a virtual lifeline at the IMT Dubai campus. It forms a meeting ground where students meet the best companies for the job opportunities in UAE and offers them the opportunities to rejuvenate.

An annual forum – the IMT Knowledge Festival – is a lifetime opportunity where students meet pioneers from the business community and other academic delegates from UAE and from across the globe. Their experiences become lines of inspiration. Many students get really motivated after interactions with these highly accomplished guests. The fest is thus an ultimate forum to exchange ideas on key issues, current affairs and latest business trends.

Other than that, the Office of Student Services of IMT Dubai operates to provide nonacademic support and help to students to get them integrated into the IMT Dubai community. Rich cultural activities, such as dance, music and theatre on the campus prepare future managers, nurturing and developing their personality and intellect.

Decisions, decisions, decisions. Getting the most from your college experience is all about choices. One that will have the most impact on your time at college is deciding what living arrangements will work best for you. Live at home and commute? Off-campus apartment? On-campus residence hall? The majority of college students choose the dorms, especially as freshmen and sophomores, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that’s your best choice. Naturally, finances play a big part in the final decision, but there are a number of other considerations you should take into account before you pick on-campus living. It depends on how you tend to look at things:

Friendly companionship or lack of privacy? In the dorms, there will be plenty of opportunities to make new friends. It’s a great way to get to know who’s who and what’s what, and one of the best cures for homesickness.

The down side is you can’t just turn it all off if you’d like some privacy. You may discover that when opportunity knocks, it doesn’t stop knocking, even when you just want some peace and quiet. And if you’re not a really sound sleeper, things can get pretty loud at 2 a.m. on the weekends.

Welcome simplicity or restricted opportunities? Living in a dorm is much simpler than living in an apartment. No monthly bills, no worries about groceries or cooking, no cleaning chores other than your bed and your desk. The flip side, of course, is that your dorm room can seem a bit cramped. Entertaining friends can be a struggle, especially if your roommate has the same idea at the same time. What’s more, many dorms require students to leave for holiday and term breaks and for the summer. This can be a huge pain, especially if you’re an out-of-state student.

Convenience or confinement? Leaving your dorm room at 9:45 to make a 10 a.m.

class is no problem. Walk wherever you want to go and forget high gas prices, lack of parking, and bus schedules. Some dorm rooms even come with free cable, high speed Internet access, and other perks. On the other hand, the comfortable convenience of the campus can seem confining at times. Also, most dorm contracts require that you purchase a campus meal plan. That translates into a lot of cafeteria meals that may not be always to your liking, and you may have to pay for a certain number of meals even if you don’t eat all of them.

Interpersonal skill building or social-life overload? Dorm life is a quick way to get a ton of “extra credit” in interpersonal relationships. It’s a total-immersion course in learning how to get along with your roommate and the people roaming the halls. For that very reason, it can also be a bit – or a bunch – overwhelming, depending on the personalities involved. You may have to deal so much drama you feel like you’ve declared a second major. And even if that freaky guy down the hall does turn out to be the next Bill Gates, there may be some people you just prefer not to get to know.

Indian Foreign University Campus

In higher education, the requirements for the same vary between different colleges, deemed universities and in an open one. Of all, Indian universities are a good choice due to its financial aid foe the international students.

Most of the universities dealing with higher education offer programs pertaining to multiple disciplines. If you are looking for foreign education, you would want to check about the programs, the financial aids, along with the fee structure. There are no deemed universities that deal with IT as a separate subject in North America. Computer engineering as well as computer sciences are treated as one single subject. Similarly, the terminology “School” clubs together higher education as well the secondary education alike. On the contrary, some of the overseas education universities consider undergraduate courses as bachelor degrees while the graduate level courses are treated as masters’ level programs.

The entrance exams for both higher education from university India as well as from a foreign university asks for clearance through the entrance exams.

The requirements for the same vary between different colleges, deemed universities, as well as in an open university. The requirements also vary as per the courses that the student is interested in as well as the school in which the student is applying. Some of the common examinations include the TOEFL, SAT, and ACT for the undergraduate programs while GMAT and Common Admission Test are for the graduate studies in North America. The most common Indian exams include All India Engineering Entrance Exam and so on.

Whether you prefer to study from India or from an open university through a foreign university, financial aid is one of the prominent conditions that you should check.

There are no government sponsored aid facilities for higher education in the foreign universities. The education costs for the international universities are high when compared with India, with the government run schools imposing a heavy fee structure. Although, the private run schools cut the differential fees, the cost remains high. In such cases, foreign education would require a careful selection of colleges, which offer a solid financial aid for the international students. Moreover, some countries such as Canada do not allow international students to work, which may worsen the financial clause. However, US gives its international students on-campus as well as off-campus, thereby helping them with training as well as finances.

Student visas do not include employment, so make sure that you do go through the clauses that come under the country for which you are applying. Moreover, your visa expires after your overseas education is over, in which case, you may get a work permit to continue working in the country.

Consider the most feasible options that suit your case, after all higher education is important for a better career prospect.

Software Piracy On Campus

Piracy is not a new thing, it has always existed, even before introduction of PC computers. Artists have been claiming that their songs are being copied or recorded when they are being played in media stations for a long period of time.

Before I came to know about software I could remember we had a radio cassette that was in fashion by then, it used to play tapes, when I heard a nice song being played over the radio I would take one old tape insert in the cassette and click on the red button to record, all I had to do was to ensure that I had a tape for recording from the media. The second option was to borrow from a friend the tape they had but we didn’t have, I placed it playing on one side then placed the other one to record into on the other side.

What amazed me was the type of technology used in making the radio cassette tapes, every time I placed it to record it erased the previous portion that was to be occupied by the new song.

Tapes needed much attention, when you borrowed from a friend there were high chances that it could be returned not functioning even by touching the recording brown part. When I had chance of going to university the technology had changed from radio cassette carrying along with it all the old ways of piracy to new sophisticated techniques.

Campus is like a box or a small enclosed room, any good or bad smell in one corner diffuses to all corners at great speed. University students are like sheep grazing in the field when one follows one direction then the rest too follows the same direction. During the first two years in campus very few students owned computers, because they were expensive or believed to be expensive and computer illiteracy among students was high.

After some time numbers of computers in campus began increasing at a high rate because law had allowed for importation of used computers from abroad hence the prices were affordable. Even me I acquired one dell Pentium III, 128 RAM, 600mhz processor speed, 17 inch monitor with 10gb hard disk space at Ksh. 10,500.

The computers students bought had no software installed, but because of the students brotherhood upon arrival in campus the following day they had latest software running in them. If a student had software for example a Windows XP CD, most students would borrow it and make copies of the same. Defining the origin of software proves very difficult especially if it had followed a chain of students. In campus I do not think that there are any anti piracy law, because that would mean arresting all the students who had computers which was impossible because of their unity and may lead to strike.

Having bought my first computer with no software installed, I borrowed a friend most of his software, I installed them and the following day the computer was up and running then made copies.

Piracy in campus also had its side effect. I recall a time a virus attacked almost all the computers in the whole campus. Because students shared a lot of software that virus did spread crushing most of the computers, funnily enough you would find that there was only one antivirus and every one had the same license, It was first a Mcafee license that was blocked and update became a problem, then Kaspersky which I don’t know where it originated, started spreading as one of the students said that it was the best, It worked fine for some time then blocked also. Students were going to cyber cafes to download the latest updates and I think this was the reason those license were blocked. However from time to time the students would shift to latest software and get blocked they would still vigorously look for crack patches till they succeed, I do not know how they were managing to get all these software, from games to programming languages, It reached a point any software you would get from a friend, be it small or even large ones, others pirated them from organizations during internship so selling software to a knowledgeable students was out of question, if there was way to pirate hardware students can easily do so.

As software piracy in most campuses has become common, software companies like Microsoft have now began producing free copies with less functionality just for learning purposes, an example is the express editions, other companies like Oracle offer software to schools and campuses at subsidized cost. By doing this I hope they are in the first steps of fighting software piracy in campuses as the main cause is the inability to get fund for legal copies.
